Uttar Pradesh police have apprehended a man in connection with the death of his sister, who was preparing for the IAS exam. The incident took place in Aliyapur village, Hardoi district, under the Pali police station’s purview on August 31. The accused is alleged to have murdered his sister, Manvi Mishra, with the cooperation of their mother, who has also been arrested by the police. Authorities are investigating the case as a suspected honour killing. Initially, the accused attempted to deceive the police by suggesting the incident was a suicide. However, forensic evidence raised suspicions. The pistol was found in her right hand, while the gunshot wound was on the left side of her head. A police officer explained that the family was upset because she had married against their will. Manvi had married a school principal in Bareilly at an Arya Samaj temple. The accused later confessed to the crime.
