A viral video depicts a heated exchange between Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and DSP Anjali Krishna, stationed in Madha taluka of Solapur district. The video shows Pawar ordering the DSP to halt an operation related to illegal sand mining. The recording features Pawar threatening Krishna with potential action for failing to follow his directives. The events transpired on September 1.
The situation unfolded when the DSP, Anjali Krishna, along with her team, initiated action in response to reports of illicit sand mining occurring in Kurdu village, Madha taluka. This mining was related to a village road project. A local associate of Ajit Pawar, Baba Jagtap, contacted Pawar and connected him with Anjali Krishna.
During the phone conversation, Ajit Pawar identified himself and demanded that the DSP cease the operation and leave the site. He directed her to inform her superior officer, Dr. Shejar, that the Deputy Chief Minister himself had placed the call, citing the need to prioritize matters in Mumbai. He explicitly ordered her to stop the action immediately.
Anjali Krishna then questioned the authenticity of the call and requested a direct phone call from him. Pawar responded by saying, “I will take action against you,” to which the DSP responded, indicating she understood his words and provided her phone number. Pawar then wrote down her number and mentioned he would make a video call. He then questioned her audacity.
Pawar then immediately video called and ordered DSP Anjali Krishna to stop the operation and leave the site. During the incident, villagers and Ajit Pawar’s supporters were also heard using abusive language towards police officials. No action has been taken regarding the incident yet.
