
VinFast has entered the Indian market with its electric SUVs, the VF6 and VF7. The VF6, positioned as a more affordable option, starts at ₹16.49 lakh (ex-showroom), whereas the VF7 is priced at ₹20.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for both models are currently open with a booking amount of ₹21,000, and deliveries are anticipated to commence in 2028.
As a part of their launch offer, VinFast is providing free charging and maintenance for its customers. Both the VF6 and VF7 feature a panoramic sunroof. The VF7 will come with a 10-year or 2,00,000 km warranty, while the VF6 will be offered with a 7-year or 2,00,000 km warranty. The company, with a presence in 16 countries, is keen on expanding its electric vehicle offerings in India. Furthermore, VinFast plans to export its India-made EVs to several South Asian markets.
The vehicles will be locally assembled at VinFast’s Tamil Nadu plant, using the CKD approach. Bookings are currently being accepted at showrooms in Surat and Chennai. VinFast aims to expand its presence by establishing 35 showrooms in 27 cities by the end of this year. The VF6 will be available in three trims: Earth, Wind, and Wind Infinity.
The VF6 is powered by a 59.6kWh battery pack, paired with a single motor and front-wheel drive. This configuration produces 204bhp of power and 310Nm of torque. VinFast claims that the VF6 offers a range of up to 468 km on a single charge, which is ARIA-certified. The vehicle can be charged from 10% to 70% in 25 minutes. The wheelbase measures 2,730 mm and has a ground clearance of 190 mm.
The VF7 is equipped with a 70.8kWh battery pack, available with either a single motor or a dual-motor setup. It is claimed to deliver a range of up to 532 km on a full charge. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive variant produces up to 350bhp and 500Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds. The 10% to 70% charging time is a mere 24 minutes.
The VF6 Earth trim features an all-black interior, while the Wind trim offers a dual-tone mocha brown and black interior. The VF7 trims also showcase a sporty all-black interior theme, with the high-end Wind and Sky variants offering a mocha brown and black theme.
The available exterior color options for both EVs include Urban Mint, Zenith Grey, Red, Infinity Blank, Desat Silver, and Black. The new VinFast electric SUVs include a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, auto-dimming IRVM, HUD (Head-Up Display), wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and a 6-speaker audio system.
Key features include a 360-degree camera, blind spot monitoring, ventilated seats, a panoramic glass roof, eight airbags, Level-2 ADAS, ABS with EBD, hill start assist, ESS, ROM, all-wheel disc brakes, seven airbags, cruise control, and a 360-degree SVM. The direct competitors of these vehicles include the Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Curve EV, and Mahindra BE.06.
