In a grim development in the Dhanbad district of Jharkhand, a woman allegedly murdered her husband over an affair with her nephew and buried the body within their home. Upon receiving the information, the police immediately reached the location and exhumed the body on Saturday in the presence of a magistrate. The deceased, Suresh Hansda, was a resident of Tilaiyatanr, under the Tundi police station area in Dhanbad. He had been missing for the past 10 days and worked as a daily wage laborer. Suresh Hansda lived with his wife, Surji Devi, their 13-year-old son, and a 6-year-old daughter. Suspicion arose among the villagers and family members when his wife didn’t attend his funeral. When questioned about her husband, she started making excuses. The community then realized that the woman had killed her husband and buried him in the house. It is alleged that Surji Devi murdered her husband, Suresh Hansda, with a sharp weapon because of her affair with her nephew. She buried the body in their home and covered it with a mud platform. The police were alerted, and after arriving at the scene, they opened the room, where they found a mound of mud. The police, too, became suspicious. The body was then exhumed in the presence of a magistrate. Dhanbad Headquarters-2 DSP Dhirendra Narayan confirmed that Surji Hansda killed her husband, Suresh Hansda. The body has been exhumed and sent to SNMMCH for a post-mortem examination. Further investigations are underway.
