Lieutenant Parul Dhaddwal has etched her name in the annals of Indian military history by becoming the first female officer from a family with five generations of service. Her commission into the Indian Army followed successful completion of training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai. She was commissioned into the Army Ordnance Corps on September 6, 2025.
During her training, Dhaddwal excelled, earning the top spot in the Order of Merit, which earned her the President’s Gold Medal. This award recognized her discipline, dedication, and leadership. Hailing from Janouri village in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur district, Dhaddwal continues a family tradition of valor and service.
