
The official vehicle of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, a Toyota Fortuner, has been identified by the city’s Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) for seven traffic violations since January 2024. Six instances involved not wearing a seatbelt while traveling in the front seat at major intersections. An additional instance involved speeding on the elevated expressway near Kempegowda International Airport in July. The total fine amounted to 2,500 rupees, which officials have confirmed has been paid. In a related incident, Akhilesh Yadav, the head of the Samajwadi Party, has been issued a fine of 8 lakh rupees for speeding violations involving his official vehicles. Yadav criticized the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in Uttar Pradesh regarding the fines.
