The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) concluded its three-day all-India coordination meeting on Sunday. The meeting, held in Jodhpur, focused on the situations in several states, and particular concerns were voiced regarding Punjab, West Bengal, and the Northeast, especially Manipur.
National Publicity Head Sunil Ambekar provided details on the meeting’s discussions during a press conference. He stated that the meeting expressed worry regarding drug use and religious conversions in Punjab. The RSS is working with the backward classes to counter religious conversions. A comprehensive discussion took place on the issues of religious conversions and the growing substance abuse problem among the youth in Punjab.
The meeting discussed the adverse effects of drugs in Punjab and considered the role of various RSS organizations in assisting young people. Furthermore, it addressed counseling and rehabilitation for those affected by drug addiction and substance abuse.
The coordination meeting also voiced deep concerns about the influx of Bangladeshi infiltrators in West Bengal. The meeting underscored the necessity of stopping the illegal entry and settlement of Bangladeshi immigrants in India. The disruptive activities by Bangladeshi immigrants against local communities in Bengal were seen as unacceptable.
It was emphasized that the unrest caused by Bangladeshi and Rohingya citizens in West Bengal needed immediate resolution. The meeting addressed recent instances of unrest caused by Bangladeshis in the border areas of West Bengal, and legal actions have been initiated.
Special attention was paid to the Northeast during the meeting. It was noted that separatist movements and violence are declining, and progress and development are ongoing. Several RSS-affiliated organizations are actively engaged in the Northeast.
Sunil Ambekar mentioned the RSS’s efforts to enhance coordination between diverse tribal groups. He highlighted the attempts to restore relations and harmony between the Meitei and Kuki communities in Manipur. He also noted that recent talks between the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Kuki community had resulted in opening National Highway 2 for the Meitei community, and the RSS believes that such initiatives will foster mutual trust, hoping the situation will normalize soon.
The meeting also addressed the floods in states like Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal, and Uttarakhand. Sunil Ambekar reported that RSS volunteers are working tirelessly to support the affected individuals.
