
India claimed the Hockey Asia Cup title in 2025 with a 4-1 triumph over South Korea, securing a place in the 2026 FIH World Cup. This victory marks the fourth time India has won the Asia Cup and qualifies them for the World Cup, to be held in the Netherlands and Belgium. The Indian squad delivered a strong performance, building on a previous draw against Korea. The goals for India were scored by Sukhjeet Singh, Dilpreet Singh (twice), and Amit Rohidas, while Dain Son scored for Korea. The final minutes of the match were tense, and the crowd erupted in cheers as India maintained their lead. India’s path to the final included a convincing 7-0 win over China in the Super 4s, with goals from several players. Shilanand Lakra opened the scoring early in the final. Harmanpreet Singh, the Indian team captain, said their next goal is the World Cup.
