Congress MP Tariq Anwar is facing scrutiny after a video surfaced showing him being carried by villagers during a flood inspection in Bihar. The video, taken in Katihar’s Manihari and Barari areas, has drawn strong reactions, particularly from the BJP. Anwar responded to the criticism by explaining that he was suffering from sunstroke due to the intense heat. He said that the villagers, noticing his condition and the challenging muddy conditions, offered to carry him to ensure his safety and comfort. The congress leader stated that it was the people’s love and concern that led to the situation. He further commented on the current political climate, suggesting that the public support witnessed during recent opposition rallies indicates a shift in favor of the opposition in the upcoming elections. The BJP criticized the act and questioned the need for VIP treatment during flood relief activities.
