Trump stated that discussions are underway to resolve existing trade barriers between the US and India. He expressed his excitement about the upcoming talks with PM Modi, hoping for a favorable outcome for both nations. The announcement comes after earlier reports of the US considering tariffs on Indian goods, as well as penalties related to India’s oil purchases from Russia. Trump has previously highlighted the unique bond between India and the US, emphasizing his personal connection with PM Modi, while still expressing some disagreement about PM Modi’s recent decisions. Prime Minister Modi has also acknowledged and reciprocated Trump’s sentiments by supporting the strengthening of the bilateral ties.
