All airports in Nepal, including Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport, have been closed until Wednesday noon due to the ongoing heavy protests. Following increasing unrest, all flights were stopped from Tuesday at 2 PM. Hundreds of passengers are now stranded in Nepal as a result. The decision to reopen the airport will be made after assessing the situation at the airport. The Nepali army has taken charge of security inside and outside the airport. Aircraft and passenger safety is currently a major concern.
