Citroen India is reducing prices across its entire range of vehicles, with savings of up to ₹2.7 lakh on select models. This move is a direct result of the implementation of GST 2.0, with the company deciding to pass on the financial advantages to its customers. The new prices will be effective from September 22, 2025. This initiative not only makes Citroen vehicles more competitive but is also set to invigorate the Indian passenger vehicle market.
**Model-Specific Price Adjustments:**
Here’s a breakdown of the price cuts customers can expect:
* **C3 and C3X:** Receive price reductions of up to ₹84,000. The C3 now starts at ₹4.80 lakh (ex-showroom).
* **Aircross SUV:** Both 5-seater and 7-seater versions see savings of up to ₹50,000.
* **Basalt and Basalt X:** These SUVs, featuring a distinctive design and advanced connectivity including CARA, are priced from ₹7.95 lakh (ex-showroom).
* **C5 Aircross SUV:** The premium C5 Aircross SUV experiences the most significant price reduction, with the Shine variant becoming nearly ₹2.7 lakh cheaper, now at ₹37.32 lakh (ex-showroom).
**Company Perspective:**
Stellantis India’s Kumar Presh emphasized the company’s support for the GST reductions. He highlighted that the goal is to make modern mobility accessible, and Citroen is ensuring the benefits are fully passed on to consumers. This initiative is intended to make Citroen vehicles more appealing, particularly during the festive season.
**Impact on Festive Sales:**
The announcement coincides with the onset of India’s festive season, when car purchases are traditionally higher due to celebrations like Onam, Anant Chaturdashi, Navratri, Eid, and Diwali. Citroen is confident that this move will increase sales and attract more customers to its showrooms.
**Strategic Significance:**
GST 2.0 aims to streamline the tax system and improve affordability for mass-market vehicles. By offering these price reductions, Citroen, which recently introduced the Basalt X and C3X, is looking to solidify its position in India’s compact and mid-size SUV segments.
