
Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister, Samrat Chaudhary, announced a new readymade garments unit set to be established by M/s Gogreen Apparel Limited in Muzaffarpur. The unit, located in the Bela Industrial Area, Phase-2, will have an annual capacity of 55 lakh pieces and will be backed by a private investment of 2336.22 lakh rupees. Financial incentives were approved for this project, contingent on the fulfillment of certain criteria by the company. This initiative is part of the state’s focus on the textile and leather sectors.
Chaudhary emphasized that this project would boost industrial investment, in line with the state government’s aim to promote industries and create employment, led by the Nitish Kumar government. The New Industrial Policy 2025 has been recently approved to foster industrial growth. This investment in the garment sector is anticipated to generate numerous employment opportunities and drive industrial development in Bihar.
Speaking at the Bihar Idea Festival, Chaudhary highlighted the swift industrial advancement in the state. He mentioned the ongoing development of industrial corridors and requested additional support for further expansion. Union Minister Piyush Goyal responded by agreeing to the construction of four more industrial corridors across different regions of Bihar. Goyal also lauded the New Bihar Industrial Investment Promotion Package-2025, calling it a straightforward and generous initiative.
Chaudhary extended his gratitude to Union Minister Goyal and acknowledged the historic significance of these advancements. He also noted the progress under the leadership of Nitish Kumar, with the goal of creating a large number of employment opportunities.
He further elaborated on infrastructure improvements, including improved roads, rail expansions and ongoing marine drive projects. He also highlighted that 17 ethanol plants have been established, with corn, wheat, and rice husk being used for ethanol production. Over the last five years, approximately 40 lakh jobs have been generated. The goal for 2025-30 is to create one crore jobs.
Chaudhary also stated that the state had received schemes worth 1.65 lakh crore rupees from Prime Minister Modi. Plans include the inauguration of projects worth approximately 50,000 crore rupees in Purnia on September 15th, with the Purnia Airport opening on the same date, featuring the largest runway in Bihar.
The state is producing and consuming 9,000 megawatts of electricity. Chaudhary expressed optimism for the future industrial growth of the state. The focus is on industrial development with the new industrial policy. He concluded by asserting that Bihar’s growth is directly tied to the nation’s progress, emphasizing the pivotal role of industries in the state’s prosperity.
