The state of Chhattisgarh has seen significant progress in its fight against Naxalism, with security forces achieving notable successes in Gariaband and Narayanpur districts. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai praised the CRPF’s Cobra commandos, the Chhattisgarh Police, and the DRG for their contributions to these operations. An encounter in Gariaband resulted in the death of 10 Naxalites, including Modem Balakrishna, a central committee member carrying a 1 crore reward. In Narayanpur district, 16 Naxalites chose to surrender to the authorities, including members from various levels of the Naxal organization, such as Janataana Sarkar members and Panchayat officials. The Chief Minister emphasized that these events are an indication of the decline of the Naxal movement in the region and the rise of peace and development. He expressed confidence, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, in achieving a ‘Naxal-free India’ by March 2026.
