
CP Radhakrishnan will take the oath of office as India’s 15th Vice President during a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhawan in Delhi on Friday, September 12. The event will be attended by various dignitaries from across the nation. President Droupadi Murmu will preside over the oath-taking.
Key figures such as Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria, Jharkhand Governor Santosh Gangwar, and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav have arrived in Delhi to participate in the ceremony.
Radhakrishnan, the NDA’s candidate, was elected Vice President on Tuesday. He won with 452 votes, surpassing B. Sudershan Reddy, the INDIA Bloc’s nominee and a former Supreme Court judge, who received 300 votes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Radhakrishnan following the election, stating his confidence that the new Vice President would uphold constitutional values and contribute positively to parliamentary proceedings.
