Authorities in Patna, Bihar, are investigating a potential honor killing after the bodies of a young man and a teenage girl were discovered on a railway track. The bodies, found between Pothahi and Nima on the Patna-Gaya railway section, were in a severely damaged state, prompting an immediate police response.
The deceased were identified as Subodh Kumar, also known as Loha Yadav, and a teenage girl. Investigations into the case revealed that a kidnapping case was filed six days prior to the discovery, involving the deceased man and two other individuals. The emergence of a wedding photograph of the couple online incited anger within the girl’s family, which police believe may have led to a planned murder. The disappearance of two of Subodh’s associates, residents of Sigrampur, further complicates the investigation.
Police have reported multiple injuries on the bodies, raising doubts about the cause of death. This unusual finding is prompting suspicion that the victims were murdered and then placed on the railway tracks. The post-mortem examination will provide definitive conclusions regarding the cause of death. The male victim had a history of criminal activity, with several cases registered against him, including robbery and illegal weapons possession. He had also been imprisoned previously and was wanted in connection with recent criminal incidents.
