
With the SA20 league’s fourth season approaching, teams are gearing up for the competition. The recent auction in Johannesburg saw intense bidding, resulting in significant squad overhauls and the appointment of new captains. Following the announcement of Tristan Stubbs as captain of Sunrisers Eastern Cape, Durban Super Giants has now named Aiden Markram as their leader.
Aiden Markram, the seasoned South African batsman and current T20 International captain, will lead Durban Super Giants in the upcoming 2025-26 SA20 season. He previously captained Sunrisers Eastern Cape for three seasons, leading them to two SA20 titles. Markram entered the auction, where Durban Super Giants secured him.
The SA20 2026 auction saw a bidding war for Markram, with Durban Super Giants winning with a bid of 7 crore rupees, momentarily establishing the record. However, Dewald Brevis later surpassed this. Markram’s decision to enter the auction was unexpected.
