
At the 2025 Dental Conference in Raipur, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai outlined his government’s strategy to improve health services for the 3 crore citizens of Chhattisgarh while concurrently working toward the goal of a developed Chhattisgarh. He highlighted the significant progress in bolstering the state’s healthcare infrastructure and extending health services to remote areas over the previous 20 months. The Chief Minister also toured an exhibition showcasing dental equipment and unveiled the Dental Association’s annual publication.
Chief Minister Sai spoke about the emphasis on healthcare accessibility from the very start of his administration. This included the approval of five new medical colleges and the establishment of institutions for physiotherapy, nursing, and mother-child care. He also pointed out the considerable expansion of health services, noting the increase in the number of medical colleges from one in the year 2000 to 15 currently. The Chief Minister also spoke about the benefits of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana and the Prime Minister’s Vaya Vandana Yojana, as well as the availability of affordable generic medicines.
He also discussed the rise in oral cancer cases, particularly the link to the consumption of pan masala, gutkha, and tobacco, and emphasized the important role of dentists. The Chief Minister then mentioned the establishment of AIIMS in Chhattisgarh. He further highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to develop India by 2047 and the Chhattisgarh government’s efforts in aligning with this vision by creating the Chhattisgarh Vision 2047 document, which outlines 10 missions to advance the state. He noted that Chhattisgarh’s GSDP is targeted to increase to 75 lakh crore rupees by 2047.
Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal mentioned the continuous efforts of Chief Minister Sai in reviewing health services. He highlighted the focus on providing quality healthcare to remote areas, including those affected by Naxal activities. He pointed out the appointment of 20 expert doctors in Bastar and the NQAS certification for the Chintagufa health center in Sukma district. Mobile medical units and bike ambulance services are being launched in tribal-dominated and difficult-to-reach areas. He further noted that Chhattisgarh is now the leading state in the country in offering cashless treatment options. The Dental Conference saw a large gathering of dentists from across the country.
