
Prime Minister Narendra Modi officiated the commencement of the Darrang Medical College and Hospital, the GNM School, and the B.Sc. Nursing College in Assam’s Darrang district. Additional projects initiated were the Guwahati Ring Road Project and the Kuruwa-Narengi Bridge over the Brahmaputra. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was also present, offering a memento commemorating Krishak Swahid Diwas.
PM Modi spoke about his visit to Assam, citing ‘Operation Sindoor’ and the significance of Maa Kamakhya. He also highlighted the day’s auspiciousness, being the occasion of Janmashtami. He recalled his previous pronouncements concerning security policy from the Red Fort.
During his address, PM Modi stated, “Yahi mera remote control hai. Mera aur koi remote control nahi hai, 140 crore deshwasi mera remote control hai…”
The Prime Minister celebrated Assam’s economic growth, noting its 13% rate and recognizing the state’s significant transformation and progress within India’s rapidly developing landscape.
PM Modi also made critical remarks against the Congress party, using allegorical references. He underscored the importance of honoring Assam’s cultural heritage and the accelerated development of the state, framing these as core governmental objectives.
