
A case of online fraud involving an OTP has resulted in the loss of ₹2.35 lakhs from a man’s bank account. The incident serves as a reminder of the increasing threat of cybercrime and the importance of online security. The police have initiated an investigation after the victim filed a report.
Rakesh Suryavanshi, who was staying in a rented house in Vinoba Nagar, under the Tarbahar police station area, was the victim of this fraud. The perpetrators gained access to his account by exploiting an OTP. The fraudulent transactions occurred shortly after he received the OTP. A sum of ₹2,35,338 was transferred from his account. After the fraudulent transactions, only ₹1,423.97 remained in his account.
Following the incident, a report was filed at the relevant police station. Considering the seriousness of the matter, a case has been registered against unknown individuals under sections 318 and 4 of the BNS. The investigation is currently in progress.
