The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, a prestigious event in television, will be held at the Peacock Theatre in California. The global audience can tune in, with Indian viewers able to watch live on September 15.
The event will be hosted by comedian Nate Bargatze, with Sydney Sweeney and Jenna Ortega joining him. Other high-profile attendees include Stephen Colbert, Tina Fey, Mariska Hargitay, Sofia Vergara, Jesse Williams, Kristen Bell and Jason Bateman.
Viewers in India can watch the live broadcast on JioHostar at 5:30 am (IST) on September 15. In the US, the ceremony will be available on CBS and Paramount at 8 pm (ET). The red carpet arrivals and star appearances will start at 6:30 pm (ET), featuring stars like Pedro Pascal, Jean Smart, Kristen Bell, and Selena Gomez.
Nominations for the 2025 Emmy Awards were announced on July 15 during a live event, hosted by Harvey GuillĂ©n, Brenda Song, and Television Academy Chair Cris Abrego. Shows like ‘The White Lotus,’ ‘The Penguin,’ and ‘Severance’ are among those nominated.
The 2025 Emmy Awards could produce several historic achievements. If Pedro Pascal wins for ‘The Last of Us’, he’ll be the first Latino actor to secure the ‘Outstanding Lead Actor’ award in the Drama Series category.
Selena Gomez could also make history. A win for her as a producer for ‘Only Murders in the Building’ would make her the first Latina woman to accomplish this feat. She already has the most nominations for a Latina producer.
Kathy Bates, 77, has established a new record by being nominated for ‘Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series’ for ‘Matlock.’ Angela Lansbury previously held this record, receiving the nomination at age 70 in 1996.
A win for Colman Domingo in the ‘Best Supporting Actor’ category for ‘The Four Seasons’ would be a significant victory for the Afro-Latino community. He would then become only the second Black actor to receive this honor, after Robert Guillaume.
