A controversial statement by spiritual leader Rambhadracharya, likening Western Uttar Pradesh to a ‘mini Pakistan,’ has drawn a strong response. Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Bareilvi, the All India Muslim Jamaat President, condemned the remark, stating it was designed to divide society and mislead Hindus. Razvi asserted that the local population has not been displaced, and the people are living peacefully. He cited examples of communal harmony in several districts, including Sambhal and Muzaffarnagar, and highlighted the parallel population growth of both communities. He challenged Rambhadracharya’s claims on population, underscoring that Muslims constitute only 20% of the national populace. Razvi questioned why Indian spiritual leaders would use the name of Pakistan. He advocated for leaders to make unifying statements and avoid actions that might promote tension.
