Raipur, According to the guidelines of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, even if the names of many farmer families are registered in the same land account (single landholding), then also each eligible family will have the right to get the benefit of up to Rs 6000 per year separately. Provided they are eligible as per the guidelines of the scheme. Financial assistance of a minimum of Rs 6,000 per annum will be provided to each family directly in their account.
Under the eligibility conditions of the scheme, ‘farmer family’ means husband-wife and minor children. If many families are connected to the same land account, then the benefit of the scheme will be given on the basis of the family unit and not on the basis of the account number. In this way, different families sharing a land account will also get this financial assistance independently.
The objective of this scheme, launched by the Government of India in the year 2019, is to provide financial assistance to small and marginal farmers across the country. The amount is given in three equal installments, each installment being of Rs 2,000. In Chhattisgarh state, under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, in February 2025, an honor fund of Rs 553 crore 34 lakh was provided to 25.47 lakh farmers of the state in the form of the 20th installment. Millions of farmer families of the country are benefiting from this scheme. To ensure that the honor fund is received only by eligible farmers, full transparency is ensured and the amount of Kisan Samman Nidhi is transferred directly to the bank accounts of the eligible farmers.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has clarified that in order that no eligible farmer family is deprived of this scheme, states and districts are being regularly checking eligibility and adding beneficiaries. Not all farmers get the benefit of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. The government has excluded some categories from this scheme. These include all institutional landholders, former and current holders of constitutional posts, MPs, MLAs, ministers, mayors and district panchayat presidents. Officers and employees of the ministries and departments of the central and state governments (excluding the fourth category) and retired employees receiving a pension of Rs 10,000 or more are also not eligible to avail the scheme. Apart from this, the income tax paying families are also outside the purview of this scheme. The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance of Rs 6,000 every year only to the actual small and medium farmer families.
