Following the recent Apple event, the iPhone 17 Series and iPhone Air were launched, generating significant interest. Pre-orders opened on September 12th, with initial delivery dates set for September 19th. However, consumers are now experiencing delays in receiving their new iPhones, leading to longer wait times.
Retailers in India are reporting shortages of the iPhone 17 Series and iPhone Air. Industry insiders attribute these shortages to Apple’s expanding retail presence, particularly affecting the stock levels of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max across different stores.
The official Apple website confirms these extended delivery timelines. For example, if a customer orders the iPhone 17 with 256GB of storage today (September 15th), the estimated delivery window is between September 27th and October 5th. Similarly, ordering the iPhone 17 Pro with 512GB storage also indicates a delivery period between September 27th and October 5th.
Customers pre-ordering the iPhone 17 Pro Max with 2TB of storage are currently looking at a delivery window between October 5th and October 11th. The base model (Gold Rose) of the iPhone 17 Air, if pre-ordered today, also has a delivery estimate between September 27th and October 5th. Note that delivery dates can vary based on the storage capacity and color options selected.
Production of the new iPhone series in India is initially focused on the base models. Production of the Pro and Pro Max models ramps up in the following weeks.
A typical shipment contains roughly 500 units, including approximately 50 units of the Pro and around 10 units of the Pro Max models. The 512GB and 1TB variants are also facing supply constraints.
