The serene beauty of a lotus flower turned into a fatal attraction for a young girl in Jharkhand. In the West Singhbhum district, a fifth-grade student lost her life after drowning in a pond. The incident occurred when Hasita Das, fascinated by a lotus flower, entered the pond to collect it. Her friends witnessed her struggle after she slipped and began to drown. They immediately alerted the local community and Hasita’s family. Despite the prompt rescue efforts and transport to the hospital, the child was declared dead. This unfortunate event serves as a reminder of the risks associated with water bodies and the need for constant vigilance, especially when children are involved.
