
Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a phone call from US President Donald Trump on Tuesday, who conveyed birthday greetings. Modi’s 75th birthday is on September 17. In response, Modi posted on X, expressing appreciation to President Trump, and reiterating their commitment to enhancing the India-US Comprehensive and Global Partnership. He also voiced support for initiatives aimed at a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine conflict. President Trump shared a similar sentiment on Truth Social, extending birthday wishes and highlighting Modi’s support in ending the war. Simultaneously, a US delegation led by US Trade Representative Brendan Lynch was in the Indian capital to discuss the progress of bilateral trade negotiations. The discussions between Lynch and Rajesh Agrawal, Special Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, were positive, with both parties aiming for an early conclusion of a mutually beneficial Trade Agreement.
