Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro was rushed to the hospital due to a rapid deterioration of his health. His son, Flavio, reported the incident, which occurred while Bolsonaro was under house arrest. The former president experienced a series of health complications, including hiccups, vomiting, and low blood pressure. Medical professionals indicated that these issues were caused by a lack of proper nutrition over the last month. Bolsonaro’s house arrest was a consequence of a 27-year prison sentence, stemming from accusations that he attempted to organize a coup after his defeat by Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in the 2022 election. Bolsonaro’s legal representatives have indicated that they would appeal the sentencing. Flavio Bolsonaro updated the public about his father’s condition via social media, describing the situation as critical. Doctors cited poor diet and mild anemia as contributing factors to Bolsonaro’s weakened state. A biopsy was also conducted, with eight skin samples collected. The ex-president was implicated in several serious charges during the trial, including planning the assassination of Lula, Vice President Geraldo Alckmin, and Alexandre de Moraes.
