
A new rail service has been launched between Raipur and Rajim in Chhattisgarh by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, boosting regional connectivity and providing more accessible travel options. The launch included the inauguration of a new MEMU train service from Rajim to Raipur. This new service aims to offer economical and convenient travel for residents of Rajim and surrounding areas. The expansion of the Raipur-Abhanpur MEMU rail service to Rajim was also initiated.
The Chief Minister mentioned that this new service would provide affordable and convenient travel options to residents of Rajim, Gariaband, and Devbhog, connecting them to the capital, Raipur. He highlighted the importance of the train for students, working individuals, and businesspeople. He emphasized that the integration of Rajim, considered the ‘Prayag’ of Chhattisgarh, into the railway network will make travel from rural areas to Raipur easier and more economical.
The Chief Minister praised the progress made in Chhattisgarh under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership over the past 19 months. He noted the investment in railway infrastructure, which would pave the way for future growth. He also mentioned the transition from the narrow-gauge train from Dhamtari to Raipur to a broad-gauge service. He expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his support.
The Chief Minister highlighted the ongoing railway projects in Chhattisgarh, with significant budget allocations planned to further develop and expand rail services. The event saw the presence of several dignitaries, including ministers, Members of Parliament, and railway officials. The new service is also expected to encourage tourism and improve regional development.
