The political landscape surrounding Lalu Yadav’s family is becoming increasingly turbulent, particularly with the upcoming assembly elections. Tejashwi Yadav is currently focused on the Bihar Adhikar Yatra, while intense discussions about the RJD unfold in Patna and other districts. Rohini Acharya’s posts on Facebook and X have become a focal point, prompting speculation about her future involvement with the RJD.
The conflict began with Rohini’s sharing of a Facebook post that critiqued Sanjay Yadav, a close associate of Tejashwi Yadav and a Rajya Sabha MP. The post related to the seating arrangement on the bus used by Tejashwi during his Bihar Adhikar Yatra. Rohini’s act triggered a response against Sanjay Yadav from some within the RJD. Further, Rohini shared a post with the inclusion of images of other party members occupying the same seating positions.
This situation has ignited speculation about potential rifts within the Lalu family, and whether Rohini might withdraw from the party before the elections.
Rohini’s expressions on social media have revealed ongoing internal tensions, which is an indicator that there may be issues between the party and the family. Her tweet said, “I have fulfilled my duty as a daughter and sister. And I will continue to do so. I have no desire for any position. Nor do I have any political ambition. My self-respect is paramount to me.”
The focus now turns to the source of Rohini’s discontent. Why has she become so upset? Prior to this, she shared a video accompanied by the following message: “They have the spirit to make the biggest sacrifices, putting their lives on the line, fearlessness-frankness-self-respect flows in their blood.”
Tej Pratap Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav’s older brother, is also displeased with Sanjay Yadav. Tej Pratap has even called him a ‘traitor.’ These current statements suggest that this issue has both family and political dimensions, raising concerns about the party’s unity.
