Kaleem’s innings was not only a personal record but also a milestone in T20I history. He became the oldest player to score a half-century in a T20I against a full member team. This record was previously held by West Indies’ Chris Gayle (41 years, 294 days), who achieved this feat against Australia in 2021.
Additionally, Kaleem also set the record for the oldest half-century in the Asia Cup, surpassing Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi. Previously, the oldest player to score a half-century in a T20I against India was South Africa’s Jacques Kallis (36 years, 166 days), a record that was set in 2012. However, Amir Kaleem also claimed this record.
