
Tarkishore Prasad, the former Deputy Chief Minister, participated in a TV9 digital ‘Baithak’ in Bihar, offering his perspectives on the political climate and his own experiences. He addressed questions regarding the BJP’s perceived weakness in the Seemanchal region, providing a detailed analysis of the factors at play. He also discussed the potential impact of SIR and its implementation. Prasad emphasized his continuing role as a dedicated BJP worker, highlighting the respect he has received within the party. He explained that the BJP’s challenges in Seemanchal are linked to demographic factors and nationalistic ideologies, outlining the strategies the party is employing to address these issues. He expressed confidence in the BJP’s future strength in the region, while acknowledging the specific challenges that need to be addressed.
Prasad discussed the implementation of SIR, highlighting the concerns surrounding foreign infiltration. He acknowledged the authority of the Election Commission of India in implementing SIR, referencing relevant Supreme Court rulings.
Regarding the development of Bihar, Prasad underscored the importance of Bihar becoming a developed state. He said that the development was limited because of the family politics until 2005. Prasad highlighted the changes that are taking place, including the introduction of new industries, and the progress under the double-engine government. He emphasized the importance of infrastructural development.
When asked about RJD, Prasad said that RJD is the family of Lalu Prasad Yadav. He added that he will not say much about the internal dynamics. He spoke about the Nal-Jal scam as well, stating that the accusations were baseless.
