The NDA, with Nitish Kumar as their Chief Ministerial candidate, has already begun campaigning for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, with Prime Minister Modi’s endorsement. The Mahagathbandhan, in contrast, has yet to announce its CM face. Tejashwi Yadav hinted at his potential candidacy in a recent interview, a stance now supported by Congress MP Akhilesh Prasad Singh.
Akhilesh Prasad Singh confirmed that Tejashwi Yadav is likely to be the Mahagathbandhan’s CM face, citing the lack of alternative options. Tejashwi Yadav is currently leading the Mahagathbandhan in Bihar and is the primary contender for the Chief Minister’s position. He is also the current Leader of the Opposition, and was the Mahagathbandhan’s Chief Ministerial candidate in the 2020 elections.
Tejashwi Yadav revealed in an interview that the alliance will not enter the elections without a designated CM face and that discussions are ongoing within the Mahagathbandhan. An announcement regarding the CM face is expected soon after the finalization of seat-sharing arrangements. Presently, the focus remains on the Adhikar Yatra, a youth-focused initiative aimed at fostering investment, establishing industries, and tackling poverty and migration, with the ultimate goal of generating employment for young people within the state.
