In a significant development, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has raided the residence of coal businessman Jaychand Kosal in Akaltara, Janjgir-Champa, Chhattisgarh. The raid was carried out by a 12-member EOW team at Kosal’s home located in Ambedkar Chowk, Akaltara. The team is currently reviewing documents seized during the raid. The sudden raid early in the morning created a sense of unease in the area. Jaychand’s father holds the position of a Grade-1 assistant at the Janjgir Collectorate. He was formerly a Grade-2 clerk in the Raipur secretariat during the tenure of the Congress government and is currently serving as a Grade-1 assistant.
