The fallout from a social media post concerning RJD leader Sanjay Yadav continues, with Rohini Acharya, sister of Tejashwi Yadav, now the target of online attacks. Acharya, after deleting the initial post, also made her X account private. She used the platform on Sunday to respond to critics and those opposing her.
Acharya’s Sunday post, published around 2:48 PM, addressed the rumors and misinformation spread by trolls, troublemakers, and those seeking to manipulate the party. She asserted that these were designed to tarnish her reputation.
She stated that she has no political ambitions, never had, nor ever will. She has no intention of running for the assembly, nor does she plan to support anyone else to become a candidate. She has no aspirations for a Rajya Sabha membership and has no rivalry with any family member. In addition, she has no desire for a position in the party or in any future government. She emphasized that her self-respect, her respect and devotion towards her parents, and her family’s honor are of paramount importance to her.
Earlier on Saturday, Acharya changed her X handle, unfollowing Tejashwi Yadav and approximately 67 other RJD leaders and associated figures. She also updated her profile picture, previously featuring images of her with Lalu, Rabri, and Tejashwi Yadav. Now, her profile picture features only herself. It is believed that the turmoil within the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has intensified due to the Sanjay Yadav situation.
The initial controversy arose from an X post prior to the announcement of the Bihar assembly elections. On September 18, 2025, Acharya’s post highlighted the internal conflicts within the RJD. The post primarily focused on Sanjay Yadav, a close associate of Tejashwi Yadav, whom she described as ‘substandard’. Although she subsequently deleted the post, the internal conflict within the party intensified.
