The Australia A team is on tour in India, engaging in a two-match unofficial Test series against India A. The initial match concluded in a draw. The subsequent match is scheduled for September 23rd at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. A major development has emerged concerning the Indian team before the commencement of the second match, with a significant alteration anticipated. Shreyas Iyer, the captain of the Indian team in the ongoing series against Australia A, will not be participating in the second unofficial Test match. Iyer has taken a break for rest and has returned to Mumbai. Although he has communicated his unavailability to the selectors, he is still considered a strong contender for the forthcoming two-Test series against the West Indies, which will begin on October 2nd. Dhruv Jurel, who served as the vice-captain during the first match, will now assume leadership duties in the absence of Iyer. Notably, no replacement player will be introduced to the team in place of Shreyas Iyer. Furthermore, KL Rahul and Mohammed Siraj are expected to be included in the team for the second match.
