The release of Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan from Sitapur Jail is imminent, following the Allahabad High Court’s bail approval in the Quality Bar land case. Khan is scheduled to be released on Tuesday, September 23, after a two-year period of imprisonment. While the release order from the Rampur court was received, the process was delayed due to the non-payment of a fine, pushing back the anticipated 7 am release time. Khan’s son, Adeeb Azam, has arrived at the jail. Security has been significantly increased in Rampur in preparation for his release. The Quality Bar land case involves accusations that Azam Khan, while serving as a Cabinet Minister in 2013, improperly influenced the allocation of land to a relative. The police are maintaining a high level of vigilance, and the Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) has conducted special surveillance around Khan’s residence and associates.
