
The government has canceled the license of Sonam Wangchuk’s NGO. This decision follows violence in Leh and an investigation by the Ministry of Home Affairs. The probe found that Wangchuk’s organization, SECMOL, violated FCRA rules by providing false information about foreign funding. The protests supported Wangchuk’s demand for Ladakh to be granted full statehood, resulting in clashes that led to four deaths. Meanwhile, the Indian Air Force is retiring the MiG-21 supersonic fighter jet today. The aircraft will be honored in Chandigarh, after having served since August 1962.
