
After periods of heavy rain, intense heat has returned. The northern parts of India, both plains and mountains, are experiencing the heat. The weather department indicates this heat will continue for some time. Hot and humid conditions prevail from Delhi to Himachal Pradesh, while central India has a different weather pattern, with continuing rainfall in Maharashtra and Gujarat.
Delhi-NCR saw a slight relief from the heat on Saturday after a week of high temperatures. Today’s forecast is mixed, with cloudy skies and warmth. Temperatures will range from 28 to 35 degrees Celsius, and nighttime temperatures will drop. The weather department doesn’t predict rain in the region for the next four days. Delhi residents will have to deal with the heat.
In Uttar Pradesh, expect scattered clouds on Sunday, light to moderate rain, and thunderstorms in many districts. Lightning may strike in some areas. Light rain is also expected in these districts. Overcast conditions are anticipated for other districts, and a broader pattern of cloud cover is expected starting Monday.
Lucknow’s weather on Sunday is expected to be normal, with a maximum temperature around 34 degrees Celsius. Rain is probable from September 30, which should lead to more pleasant conditions. Today, sunshine is expected in Ayodhya, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Kanpur, and Barabanki, where the maximum temperatures will reach around 35 degrees Celsius. Noida will have a maximum temperature of around 35 degrees Celsius today, with Ghaziabad experiencing similar weather.
Rajasthan’s Monsoon Withdrawal
Monsoon has left Rajasthan, departing from all regions on September 26. Rain is possible in eastern, south-eastern, and southern Rajasthan between September 28 and October 3. The weather in western Rajasthan is forecast to be dry for the next 4-5 days.
Bihar is expected to receive rain starting around October 2, with scattered showers possible. Today’s weather will remain dry. Patna, Gaya, Sitamarhi, Muzaffarpur, and the other districts are forecast to stay dry. Temperatures are expected to increase by a few degrees. Humidity is expected, but no rain.
Himachal Pradesh is also feeling the heat. Dry weather is expected until October 3, with little change in minimum temperatures. However, maximum temperatures could increase over the coming days. Heat is being felt in Kangra, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Chamba, Shimla, Solan, and Una.
In Uttarakhand, the dry weather will bring heat to the plains, while cloudy skies and light showers are possible in the hills. Five districts are expected to see rain on Sunday, and light rain and thunderstorms are forecast in specific areas. The remaining districts should remain dry. Dehradun will see a mix of clear and partly cloudy skies, with a maximum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 22 degrees Celsius.
Maharashtra and Other States
The IMD has issued a red alert for heavy rainfall in Gujarat, central Maharashtra, Goa, and Konkan until September 29. An orange alert is in effect for rain in the Marathwada region. A red alert is in place for Palghar district for September 28 and 29. Excessive rainfall is possible, leading the administration to instruct departments to be vigilant. Mumbai has a red alert for rain, with heavy rainfall predicted for Sunday. The BMC has advised people not to leave their homes unless it’s necessary on September 28, and heavy rain is expected in many areas on September 29.
