Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his recent ‘Mann Ki Baat’ episode, dedicated a significant portion to the upcoming centenary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. He recalled the RSS’s inception on Vijaya Dashami in 1925, when the nation was under colonial rule, and highlighted the organization’s contributions. Modi emphasized the core values of sacrifice, service, and discipline, which he believes define the RSS. He acknowledged the organization’s century-long dedication to the nation, exemplified by the volunteers’ presence during natural disasters, with ‘Nation First’ as their guiding principle. Furthermore, Modi made mention of Kolkata’s Durga Puja being recognized by UNESCO, paid homage to Lata Mangeshkar on her birth anniversary, and encouraged people visiting Ayodhya to visit the temples of Maharishi Valmiki and Nishadraj, while also highlighting the upcoming Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti.
