The implementation of GST 2.0 has brought about significant price reductions for several popular sedan models in the Indian market. These price cuts offer prospective buyers a chance to save money and reconsider their vehicle choices. Models ranging from the Honda Amaze to the Hyundai Verna have experienced substantial price drops.
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire, a leading subcompact sedan, is now more affordable, with the ZXi Plus AMT variant seeing the largest reduction of ₹88,000. Other high-end variants also experienced price cuts of a minimum of ₹80,000. This makes the Dzire a more practical choice for buyers who may have been considering a hatchback, thanks to its larger boot and sedan styling, now available at a lower price point.
The Honda Amaze has benefited greatly from GST 2.0, with its top ZX CVT petrol variant now ₹1.20 lakh cheaper. Even the lower manual variants have seen price reductions of ₹80,000 to ₹90,000. The Amaze, renowned for its city driving convenience and reliability, now presents an even more compelling value. Honda’s sales might see a boost due to these changes.
The Tata Tigor, although sometimes overlooked, now has attractive pricing. The XZ Plus CNG variant’s price was cut by ₹81,000, while the petrol and automatic variants also became more affordable.
The Hyundai Aura, known as a feature-packed city sedan, has also benefited from GST 2.0. Its SX Plus AMT variant is now ₹76,000 cheaper, and other CNG and manual variants saw reductions of ₹70,000 or more. Positioned between the Grand i10 Nios and Verna, the Aura is known for its balance of compact size and sedan practicality, qualities further highlighted by the new prices.
The Hyundai Verna, in the premium compact sedan segment, also features in this list. Its top SX (O) Turbo DCT variant is ₹60,000 cheaper, while other high-end variants have also been reduced by over ₹50,000. With the new prices, the Verna, which competes with the Honda City and Skoda Slavia, could cause potential buyers to reassess where the best value lies.
