The city of Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, is reeling from a shocking incident where a man murdered his friend in a misguided attempt to gain tantric powers. The accused, driven by blind faith, first intoxicated his friend before taking him to a room and brutally ending his life by slitting his throat. The victim, identified as Ajay (alias Jhatu), was killed in Gadabasa, under the jurisdiction of the Golmuri police station. The accused, Sandeep Kumar, has been arrested by the police. The local community was stunned by the violence. When the police arrived on the scene, they took the injured Ajay to Tata Medical Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. Authorities have launched a detailed investigation into the incident. Sandeep Kumar, the accused, had conspired to bring Ajay to his home on a Monday evening. He then plied him with alcohol and subsequently murdered him at midnight. Both the victim, Ajay, and the accused, Sandeep, worked at the same shop and shared a close friendship. Sandeep’s deep-seated belief in the power of tantric practices led him to commit this brutal act. This horrific event has triggered widespread discussion, especially during the auspicious Navratri period. This is not an isolated incident; a similar instance in Chatra district of Jharkhand saw the brutal murder of a person suspected of practicing black magic.
