
Under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi facilitated the direct transfer of funds to women in Bihar. The first installment saw Rs 10,000 each being deposited into the accounts of 75 lakh women, amounting to Rs 7,500 crore. This Bihar government scheme focuses on empowering women through self-employment and livelihood programs. It offers financial aid to women, allowing them to pursue their chosen employment or business ventures. Beneficiaries can invest in areas like agriculture, animal husbandry, crafts, and small-scale enterprises. The scheme also emphasizes community support, with Self Help Groups providing training and the development of Gramin Haat-Bazaars to assist in selling their products. The program launch was a significant event, reaching over 1 crore women across multiple administrative divisions in the state.
