
The Citroen C3 Aircross has achieved a noteworthy safety accolade, earning a 5-star rating for adult occupant protection under the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat NCAP). The SUV received a score of 27.05 out of 33 points for adult safety performance and 40 out of 49 points for child occupant protection, resulting in a 4-star rating for child safety. This accomplishment positions the Aircross as the 22nd vehicle to be recognized with a 5-star rating by Bharat NCAP. However, the adult safety score is relatively lower compared to other vehicles within the 5-star category.
The comprehensive crash safety assessment revealed that the Citroën Aircross exhibited a stable structure and footwell area, designed to withstand significant impact forces. Protection levels for adult occupants were rated as good to adequate across all body regions during both frontal and side impact tests. The Aircross also demonstrated commendable performance in the side pole test, providing complete head protection through the utilization of curtain airbags.
Regarding child occupant safety, the Aircross offered comprehensive protection to both 18-month-old and 3-year-old dummies, when secured within rearward-facing child seats using ISOFIX anchorages and support legs. The model also features i-Size anchorages as standard, which are engineered for a straightforward and secure installation of child seats.
The Citroën Aircross incorporates more than 40 active and passive safety features. These encompass six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), hill-hold assist, seatbelts with reminders for all seating positions, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). Its construction utilizes High Strength Steel (HSS), Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS), and Ultra High Strength Steel (UHSS) to enhance crash energy absorption and minimize cabin intrusion.
The SUV is equipped with comfort and convenience features, including LED projector headlamps, automatic air-conditioning, power-folding ORVMs, a soft-touch dashboard, rear AC vents, and strategically positioned power window switches for enhanced ergonomics.
Available transmission choices consist of a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual, and a 6-speed automatic. Seating configurations include a 5-seater and a 5+2 seater configuration, offering versatile options. Engine choices include a 1.2L PureTech 110 turbocharged petrol engine producing 110 PS and 205 Nm, and a 1.2L PureTech 82 naturally aspirated petrol engine.
