The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather warning for several states, predicting heavy rainfall starting on October 2, 2025. Regions including Karnataka, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha are expected to experience significant rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds, potentially disrupting Dussehra celebrations. The IMD predicts intense showers across East, Central, West, South Peninsular, and Northeast India. From October 5 to 7, a fresh western disturbance will affect Northwest India, with the most severe impact on October 6. The southwest monsoon continues to withdraw from several areas, and its line of withdrawal currently runs through Veraval, Bharuch, Ujjain, Jhansi, and Shahjahanpur. Multiple districts are likely to face extremely heavy showers, lightning, gusty winds, and thunderstorms. Detailed forecasts are available for specific regions.
