The government is exploring ways to simplify the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) to reduce the burden on students and decrease their reliance on coaching centers. The primary goal is to make the exams more accessible by aligning them with the 12th-grade curriculum, enabling students to prepare through self-study. A review panel, consisting of experts, is assessing the current structure of these examinations.
The panel is investigating various aspects, including the disparities between the entrance exams and the 12th-grade syllabus. The panel’s assessment of the current educational system will also cover awareness about alternative career options. Additionally, the panel will evaluate the effectiveness and availability of career counseling services in schools and colleges to assist students.
