The 2022 film ‘Kantara,’ directed by and starring Rishab Shetty, also featured Sapthami Gowda, Kishore, and Achyuth Kumar. It tells the story of a Kambala champion who encounters conflict with a forest officer, broadening the scope to encompass the complex interplay of sacred land, ancestral lineage, and the tension between the natural world and legal regulations. ‘Kantara’ (2022) set a new record as the highest-grossing Kannada film, and Rishab Shetty won the National Film Award for Best Actor.
