
Emerging Indian cricket star Rajat Patidar has been assigned a prominent leadership role. He has showcased impressive captaincy skills in recent times. After playing a pivotal role in RCB’s quest for their first IPL title in 18 years, Patidar recently captained the Central Zone to victory in the Duleep Trophy 2025 final. He is now set to captain the Madhya Pradesh Ranji team.
Rajat Patidar Lands a Key Leadership Role
The Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) has announced that Rajat Patidar will be the captain of the team for the Ranji Trophy 2025-26. He will be succeeding Shubham Sharma for the forthcoming Ranji Trophy 2025-26 season. Madhya Pradesh clinched their inaugural Ranji title in 2022, and the team, under Patidar’s leadership, aims to replicate that success. Presently, he is leading the Rest of India in the Irani Cup, where they are competing against Ranji champions Vidarbha.
The 15-member Madhya Pradesh team boasts a strong batting lineup with players like Yash Dubey, Harsh Gawli, and Shubham Sharma. The bowling attack features pace bowlers Kuldeep Sen and Aryan Pandey, along with spinners Kumar Kartikeya and Saransh Jain, contributing to the team’s overall balance. The squad also includes Himanshu Mantri, Harpreet Singh, Venkatesh Iyer, Sagar Solanki, Adheer Pratap, Arshad Khan, and Anubhav Agrawal. The Ranji Trophy 2025-26 will be conducted in two stages. The first stage will run from October 15 to November 19, while the second stage will be from January 22 to February 1. The knockout matches will be held from February 6 to February 28.
