Ajay Devgn, a prominent name in Bollywood, has a filmography filled with both critical and commercial successes. However, his career also includes films that underperformed, failing to meet financial expectations. This article examines one such instance, a film released eight years ago.
Devgn made a strong debut in Bollywood and has since solidified his position as a leading actor. He has been the lead in many successful films and also participated in multi-starrer projects. The focus is on one such multi-starrer, which despite featuring a strong ensemble cast, didn’t resonate with audiences.
The film, ‘Baadshaho,’ was released in 2017. The movie included Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, Vidyut Jammwal, Ileana D’Cruz, and Esha Gupta. Sharad Kelkar and Sanjay Mishra also appeared in the film. Ileana played Maharani Gitanjali, and Ajay portrayed Bhawani Singh.
The film’s story was written by Rajat Arora and directed by Milan Luthria. The production involved an investment of 85 crore rupees. Unfortunately, the film’s earnings in India were limited to 78.10 crore rupees, resulting in a box office failure.
In 2025, Ajay Devgn has already released two films. ‘Raid 2’ was a box office hit, while ‘Son of Sardar 2’ did not perform as well as its predecessor. Devgn’s upcoming project is ‘De De Pyaar De 2,’ slated for a November 2025 release.
