The Congress party has launched a strong condemnation of the BJP, accusing them of extensive vote manipulation in the Bihar elections. Alka Lamba, speaking on behalf of the party, presented evidence of what she called ‘vote theft’ orchestrated by Narendra Modi and the Election Commission. She cited instances of multiple registrations at the same address, duplicate entries, and the inclusion of deceased individuals in the voter list. Lamba stated that these were just a few examples of a larger pattern of electoral fraud. She alleged that the BJP, in collusion with the Election Commission, is deliberately suppressing the voting rights of citizens. A key point of contention is the removal of about 23 lakh women from the voter list across six districts. Lamba asserted that this decision is unconstitutional and is designed to influence the outcome of the upcoming assembly elections. The Congress is also organizing a nationwide campaign to gather signatures against this alleged ‘vote theft’. In addition, Lamba highlighted the removal of approximately 15 lakh male voters from the list. The Congress party is questioning the legitimacy of the entire electoral process and the integrity of the voter lists, particularly in light of the forthcoming elections. Lamba highlighted that the Modi government is attempting to influence the elections by transferring money to women’s accounts while simultaneously removing their names from the voter list.
