BSNL has rolled out a new VoWiFi service, enabling users to place voice calls using a Wi-Fi connection, thus bypassing the need for a traditional mobile network. The service is currently accessible in selected areas, placing BSNL in direct competition with other telecom operators like Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone-Idea, which have already integrated similar Wi-Fi calling options. VoWiFi is especially advantageous in regions with limited mobile signal availability. To take advantage of the service, users must possess a smartphone with VoWiFi support, usually enabled through the settings menu. BSNL has confirmed that the VoWiFi service will be provided free of charge, eliminating any additional costs for users. This initiative underscores BSNL’s ongoing efforts to stay competitive and offer advanced communication solutions.
